Please be on time to class. We understand that situations come up that are out of your control. We respect your time and everyone else’s time. It is our policy that if you cannot arrive on time to class, we will not delay the class beyond 5 minutes in a matter of fairness to all students.

A place in the class will be reserved just for you. We understand that situations beyond your control may arise requiring you to cancel or reschedule your class. Because of reserved enrollment and small class size, no refund will be given for cancellations or re-schedules made within one week of class. No refund will be given if you don’t attend the schedule class.

This is a classroom setting with adult learning and quiet testing. If the guest you will be bringing (including those with more than 2 legs) may be a distraction to others, please make prior arrangements. Service animals, interpreters, caretakers are all welcome to attend.

We recommend you read through your ACLS provider manual and become comfortable with the algorithms. We will cover everything in class, but pre-reading will better prepare you. Part of ACLS is knowing the main heart rhythms (too fast, too slow, pulseless rhythms) and we will go over all of these in class. If you aren’t a pro at reading heart rhythms, don’t stress! We will cover them.

The American Heart Association requires student manuals for use prior to class and during class for use as a study guide and reference. We encourage you to ask people you may know if you can borrow a book to study from, or as an alternative, you can purchase one during enrollment, or online. We have a limited supply of ‘loaner’ books for use during class.

All certified students of CPR and First Aid classes through American Safety and Health Institute will have access to reference material given as part of their certification (online access).

Prior to taking ACLS and/or PALS, you must take an online assessment prior to attending the class and bring your results page with you. These pre-courses are free and found at www.heart.org/eccstudent. The passwords can be found on the inside cover of your provider manual and will be sent to you immediately after registration.

A little tip: This is very useful as a study guide. It is required that you have it completed and if you aren’t happy with your score, you may take it as many times as you wish!

Paper certifications offer proof that you met certain criteria at the time of the class. We keep all records for 5 years, and are able to look you up, and re-issue a card with the same expiration date as your original card. We charge $25 for card replacement. If it is an electronic certification, please log into your online profile and re-print your certification.

Please reference our course schedule by clicking on “courses” above. Online registration is how you reenroll, and payment is taken at that time. We are not currently set up to take payment over the phone.

An e-card is the new method for distributing certifications for anything certified through the American Heart Association. After successful completion of an AHA course, your certification will be issued typically within 2 business days (or sooner), and you will have access to claim it. An email will also be sent to you with instructions on how to claim it. For more information on e-cards, and how to claim it, please click here https://cpr.heart.org/AHAECC/CPRAndECC/FindACourse/CourseCardInformation/UCM_473165_Course-Card-Information.jsp

We provide group classes all the time to meet the specific needs of a customer. This works great because we are usually able to accommodate a group’s schedule and meet them at their space. Group rates are flat-rate and have special pricing that ends up being less per student if you get a full class.

CPR classes are nationally recognized and meets OSHA requirements in all 50 states. It covers the basics of when and how to perform CPR and use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and relieve choking. We train and certify under American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) and certification is valid for 2 years. Unless otherwise specified, we always provide training in adult, child, and infant age ranges.

BLS “Basic Life Support” is a required level of training and certification for anyone in the healthcare sector. It covers many aspects of CPR, but has healthcare provider additions to CPR such as pulse-checks, BVM (Bag Valve Mask) use, and different CPR/vent ratios for pediatrics, and intubated patients.

Yes it is possible to add a BLS online hybrid option to your ACLS or PALS course. You will need to complete the BLS course work online ahead of time, and bring with you a certificate of completion so the ACLS or PALS instructor can evaluate your BLS skills.

Our main classroom is conveniently located at 4120 Meridian Street, Suite 270, Bellingham, Washington. We are about 20 minutes south of the Canada border, and 90 minutes North of Seattle.

We may be able to get you taken care of before your certification expires. Please call us at (888) 868-9138 and talk to scheduling. We may be able to arrange for an Online Hybrid right away so you don’t miss a shift or take on liability of being out of compliance.

We are fortunate to have a strong team of medical providers who are also educators. All of our instructors have first-hand experience on the subject matter they teach. Our team is comprised of Firefighters, RNs, EMTs, and Paramedics.

We update our schedule on a regular basis and add classes so you are always welcome to keep checking back. Some classes aren’t in high demand and therefore may only be on the schedule once or twice a year. We are also developing several courses presently and will be added to the schedule soon. If you are looking for a specific course that isn’t listed, please click here and we will get back to you.

This option involves an online component that replaces the traditional classroom didactic session. This course may be used for initial or renewal providers. Upon successful completion of the online portion, students are required to attend an in-person skills assessment. Upon completion of both the online didactic training, and in-person skills assessment, the student will be issued certification. All certifications are valid for 2 years.

If you are taking a course that comes with AHA or ASHI certification, the certification duration is 2 years. If you are taking a course with a certificate of completion (Ex. HIV/AIDS, extinguisher, babysitter, bloodborne pathogens) then a certificate is issued that you attended and does not carry an expiration.

We loan these during our CPR courses. If you would like to order one to keep, please either add it to your course registration, or visit our online store and we will ship it to you.

The last thing we want to have happen is someone getting hurt or exacerbating a pre-existing injury. Please let the instructor know if you have any physical limitations so we can make accommodations.

We try to plan on one short break every hour, and if you are taking a full-day course, there will be a 30-minute lunch break. You are welcome to bring lunch, or visit any of the nearby restaurants and eat in class.

We invite all of our past participants to join us on a regularly scheduled public class. If you want to sit through a course again for a refresher, please call or email us and we can make that happen. In order to attend as a non-certifying attendee, you must hold a valid provider card in the subject matter that you are attending.

The US currently does not recognize CHA certification. If you will be providing care in the US, you must take an American Heart Association course. We do offer currently certified CHA providers a discount, please call us to get this promo code. You must show proof of CHA certification upon attendance.

Unless you have added the BLS online hybrid onto your ACLS or PALS registration, we cannot certify you in BLS during ACLS or PALS. We do review aspects of BLS during ACLS and PALS, however BLS is a totally separate course and certification than ACLS and PALS. There is simply not enough time in the day to cover all ACLS/PALS and BLS.
